Valid value Description MONEY Legal tender/currency, e.g. Federal Reserve Bank Notes, U.S. Notes, Gold Certificate, Silver Certificate. NEGOTIABLE Instruments (not money) that is payable without restriction, e.g., endorsed travelers checks and money orders; bearer checks and bonds. NONNEGOTIABLE Instruments requiring further action to become negotiable, e.g., unendorsed checks, stocks, and bonds.
