Datypic (pronounced day-TIP-ic) was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan. Datypic has provided development and training services to a wide variety of large and small businesses, educational institutions and government agencies.

Datypic is a Michigan corporation and a certified Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB).

Priscilla Walmsley serves as Managing Director of Datypic. Ms. Walmsley has extensive experience as a software architect, developer, and data architect. She has held positions at RELTECH Group, Platinum technology, XMLSolutions Corporation (as a VP and co-founder), and Vitria Technology.

Walmsley was a member of the W3C XML Schema Working Group from 1999 to 2004, where she served as an Invited Expert. She is the author of Definitive XML Schema (Prentice Hall PTR, 2012), and XQuery (O'Reilly Media, 2015). In addition, she co-authored Web Service Contract Design and Versioning for SOA.
